As the sun sinks in the sea,
Here I watch upon the shore,
A figure silhoueted against the sky,
To stand and wait forevermore.

I scan the waters for a hopeful sign,
But all the effort comes in vain,
The truth I cannot bear to face,
My heart is pierced and full of pain.

Who I thought was once a friend,
Turned his back with pure disgust,
He left without a single word,
The only person I put my trust.

I begged and cried but he heard naught,
Leaving me alone to death,
For me to face it by myself,
And draw my last and final breath.

So now I watch upon the shore,
A figure silhoueted against the sky,
To stand and wait forever more,
As the waves lap by and by
